Cammad was founded in Hong Kong in 2000. Today, we are a limited company with branches in Hong Kong and the UK. We have edited thousands of papers and hundreds of theses for academics and students throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Our clients have included faculty at universities in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, and the USA.

Peter Madill, PhD
Peter Madill, PhDManaging Director
Peter set up Cammad in Hong Kong in 2000 after working for several years as an English teacher, researcher, and editor in Hong Kong and mainland China. He is a published academic writer with a BA (First Class Honours) and a PhD in comparative literature from The University of Hong Kong, a BSc (First Class Honours) in psychology from The Open University, and an MLitt (Distinction) in intellectual history from the University of St Andrews. In addition to being the director of Cammad, he is a visiting fellow of the Institute of Intellectual History at St Andrews.
Jenny Mace
Jenny MaceEditing Co-ordinator
Jenny has an MSc (Distinction) in animal welfare science, ethics, and law from the University of Winchester as well as a BSc (2:1) in animal behaviour from Aberystwyth University. Alongside her work for Cammad, she works as an independent researcher (Mace Animal Welfare) and is a part-time remote MSc lecturer with the Animal Welfare Research Group at the University of Winchester. She has been working for Cammad since 2012.


Profiles of Some of Our Editors

Alwyn
AlwynChief Editor
Alwyn has a BA (First Class Honours) in classics, an MA (Distinction) in Mediterranean studies, and a PhD in history from the University of Exeter. As well as being a published academic writer, he has edited books and journal papers for several leading academic publishers including Taylor & Francis and Liverpool University Press. He has also earned a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and has a reading knowledge of several ancient and modern languages. He has been editing for Cammad since 2012.

Sharon has worked for Cammad since 2008, joining the company after a career in education. An international history and politics honours graduate of the University of Leeds and a qualified teacher, she gained wide experience in the primary, secondary, and further education sectors during her career. She was also an A Level history examiner and a test administrator for a national educational research organization.
Amelia
AmeliaSenior Editor
Amelia has a PhD and an MA (Distinction) in creative and critical writing as well as a BA (First Class Honours) in English, all from the University of Sussex. She has worked as a doctoral tutor, a literacy teacher, and an examiner of GCSE English literature papers, and has been shortlisted for multiple writing awards, including Myriad Editions' 2015 First Drafts Competition and The Literary Consultancy's 2022 Scholarship. She has been editing for Cammad since 2015.
Anne

Anne earned a BA in English (cum laude) and an MS in library and information science (with a specialty in the life sciences) from The University of California at Los Angeles, and an MS in wildlife biology and ecology from Michigan State University. She has edited postgraduate-level monographs, theses, reports, and journal articles in the life sciences, earth sciences, and social sciences for more than 30 years. For much of that time, she also managed the book-publishing programme for a large non-profit international science association. Anne is a bibliophile, birder, gardener, and outdoorswoman who enjoys national and international travel. She has been editing for Cammad since 2017.

Malcolm has a Bachelor of Communications w/Psychology degree (First Class Honours) from the University of Malta and an MA (Distinction) in documentary practice from Brunel University London. Before joining Cammad in 2018, Malcolm worked in the newspaper industry for 21 years and in higher education for seven years.

Jason grew up in the USA and attended university in the UK. He has an MA (Hons) in history and an MLitt (Distinction in the dissertation) in intellectual history both from the University of St Andrews. Currently he is studying for a PhD in intellectual history at St Andrews. He has been editing for Cammad since early 2017.
Kate

Kate has an MA (Hons) in history from The University of Edinburgh as well as an MSc (Distinction) in rural development from the University of Aberdeen where she worked as a research fellow at the Arkleton Centre for Rural Development. In addition to her work as an editor, she has taught English in rural Zimbabwe and Italy. Kate has been editing for Cammad since 2018.

Abi earned a BA in liberal arts from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire and an MLitt in intellectual history (Distinction in the dissertation) from the University of St Andrews. She has copyedited books and articles for seven years, and has edited for Cammad since early 2021. In addition to her work as an editor, she teaches literature & composition, medieval history, and Latin at a classical school.

Beth has an MA (Hons) in social anthropology from the University of St Andrews and an MSc (Distinction) in medical anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. She also volunteers as an editor for a non-profit organization that specializes in gender health equity.
